Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
