Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the area, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Homeowners observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both states.

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
